Hey guys!

Fourteen days into the month, and I’ve already managed to buy eight books – which is how far behind schedule I am with my Goodreads challenge. I’m really busy at the moment with college work and other things, but I’m hoping in the summer I’ll have the chance to read more and catch up.

Here are the books I’ve bought this month so far:

The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

This book instantly caught my attention because it reminded me of Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series – a main character who can kill with a single touch? I was intrigued, and since I’ve heard a few positive things about this series, I thought I’d give it a go.

Frost Blood by Elly Blake

I remember seeing this book about a lot when it’s ARCs first came out, and since I love stories to do with controlling the elements, I decided to pick it up!

Ash and Quill (The Great Library #3) by Rachel Caine

I love Rachel Caine, and regardless of plot or genre, I will literally buy any book she ever writes…which is why I’m so ashamed to admit I haven’t actually started this series yet. I tried to read the first one a few years back, but hit a reading slump and gave up. However, I plan on starting this series soon!

(Side note: The Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine is absolutely wonderful, and I cannot recommend it enough! It’s one of my favourite series of all time, so if you haven’t read it yet, you should!)

The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed

I think this book is going to be hard to read, but I’m hoping it’s going to convey a really important message. I’m hoping to read it soon!

King’s Cage (Red Queen #3) by Victoria Aveyard

I really enjoyed Red Queen when I read it a few years back, and couldn’t resist picking up the third installment in the series when I saw it, even though I still haven’t read the second book!

Teardrop by Lauren Kate

I’m currently reading this one, and it’s interesting. It started off a bit strangely, but I like the style of writing, and I’m intrigued to see where the plot is going.

My Soul To Save (Soul Screamers #2) by Rachel Vincent

I picked this one up along with Teardrop from a second-hand bookshop, thinking it was the first book in this series, and only realised my mistake afterwards. I really wish books in series would have numbers on them to indicate what order they come in, because I’ve made this mistake too many times haha!

A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR #3.1) by Sarah J. Maas

I adore the A Court of Thorns and Roses series! The second book was absolutely amazing, but I have to admit that I have yet to read the third. I’m not sure whether to reread the first two novels, or dive right in with the third when I get round to it. I’m looking forward to reading ACOFAS eventually!

And that’s the end of this book haul! Have you read any of these books? Are any of them on your TBR?

Thanks!

– Emma
