I published Part 1 to this post earlier this month, which you can check out here! In this post, I’d originally planned to talk about the books I’ve started but not finished that I no longer have any interest in reading, but then I realised there’s not many books that I’ve actually completely given up on.
So instead of doing that, I thought I’d continue talking about the books I’d like to give another try at some point! Here are some more books I’ve started but never finished:

I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog now that I haven’t read the Harry Potter series, but a couple of years ago I did actually attempt to read the first book. The reason I didn’t finish it was because I was starting to slip into a reading slump, and there wasn’t anything that really gripped me about the story to push me to carry on reading. I definitely want to read this one at some point though – I don’t feel like I can really go through life not having read Harry Potter.
When I bought this book, it was before I’d joined the online book community (over four years ago!), so I really wasn’t aware of how popular it was. At the time when I tried to read it, it was very different from the books I was reading, and I just wasn’t invested in the plot. But I think this is exactly the kind of book I’d enjoy now, so I’m hopeful next year I’ll finally read it.
I read Throne of Glass a long time ago, and I remember absolutely loving it. I was really excited to continue on with the series, but I left it too long between finishing the first book to start the second, and just couldn’t remember important details about what had happened. At some point, I’d like to reread the first book and carry on with the series!
A similar thing happened with this series: I left it too long to read the second book, and by the time I got around to starting Insurgent, I’d lost interest in the story.I did really enjoy Divergent when I read it, so I would like to give this series another go. I’m not convinced I’ll like it as much now, but hopefully I’ll enjoy it.
I don’t tend to read short stories – I’ve tried a number of times over recent years to read them, but I’m just not sure they’re really for me. If it’s a single novella, I’ll probably be okay, but a collection of short stories just seems to immediately send me into a reading slump. But regardless of that, I love the Shadowhunter world and Magnus Bane, so I’ll definitely try to read through these short stories at some point.
Have you read any of these books? What books have you started but not finished?!
