It’s been a while since I last posted – the beginning of the year was pretty busy for me, and I haven’t even had the chance to read, let alone blog! But this past weekend, I finally got baking and I just had to do a book and bake.
This roulade was Snickers inspired – I filled it with whipped double cream, caramel, and a little bit of peanut butter! I based it off of Mary Berry’s recipe on BBC Food, though I changed a few elements due to not having all of the ingredients.
I’d never made a roulade before attempting this bake, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Mostly due to the fact that I actually managed to roll it, which was what I was most concerned about! (And as always, sorry about the poor photo – I’d wanted to include a photo of it sliced, but my family demolished it in under five minutes!)
When I was trying to think of a book to pair my roulade with, all I could think about was this graphic novel and all of the wonderful food creations within it! It’s a lovely light-hearted read, and I’d hope my Snickers-inspired dessert would fit in well at the pumpkin patch. You can read my review for Pumpkinheads here!
Have you read Pumpkinheads?!
