It’s been over a month since I last posted, and I can’t quite fathom how quickly the weeks have gone by! Lockdown is definitely making time pass weirdly – I’m pretty convinced that if it weren’t for my family, I wouldn’t even know what day it is.
I had a ridiculous amount of uni work to do these past two months, but as of this week I’m officially free until the next academic year begins! As a Queen of Procrastination, it’s only natural that when I should’ve been working on my assignments these last two months, I instead tried to find anything to do except them. And that actually led to me reading a lot of books!
These are the books I read in April and the first two weeks of May:
The Guinevere Deception (Camelot Rising #1) by Kiersten White
The Guinevere Deception was the first book I picked up in April, and I really enjoyed it. Kiersten White’s writing was brilliant, and her take on Arthurian legend was definitely interesting! I’m looking forward to the publication of the sequel in November.
The Throne of Glass series (1-7) by Sarah J. Maas
One of the posts I’d planned for my Shelf Quarantine series was about setting a bookish challenge to complete during lockdown, in which I was going to explain my goal of reading the whole Throne of Glass series. Whilst I never had the chance to post about it, I did succeed with the challenge!
I loved reading these books! The first book was a reread for me, and I enjoyed it as much this time round as I did all those years ago when I initially read it. I struggled to put these books down – they were so captivating! I’ll be reviewing the series as a whole soon, so keep an eye out for that!
All in all, I’ve read eight books in just over a month. I’d only read two books this year prior to April, so I’m pretty happy with how much I’ve read!
What have you recently read?!
